C.A.R.E. Online Fishing Course

Overview

Connecticut freshwater fishing turns to online training. The Fisheries Division of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) needed to digitize its informative training programs. RDSI created a multi-lingual on-demand course conversion of their content.

The Customer

The Fisheries Division of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks to enhance and diversify recreational fishing in the state. They provide fishing licenses, education about the waterways and general information about fish found in state waters.

The Challenge

Connecticut has an engaged fishing population. With so many inland fresh waterways as well as Long Island Sound, conveying the fishing rules and regulations and general information can be a challenge to both the English and Spanish speaking populations.

Our Solutions

The Fisheries Division received a US Fish and Wildlife Service Sportfish Restoration Grant. This enabled them to hire RDSI to create a course conversion of their existing analog training program and create an interactive, on-demand digital program. The course includes a basic introduction about the family-friendly sport of freshwater fishing, licensing requirements, and other educational resources to support the initiatives of the Connecticut Fisheries Division. RDSI’s experience with graphical user interface (GUI) development, production, and cognitive learning, played a key role in this project and allowed the team to deliver a high-quality training and simulation solution. Cyber Security Training

Our team recently developed and presented a comprehensive cyber security training at the East Lyme  EOC facility – focusing on essential topics within the field. Participants were educated on the fundamental principles of cyber security, including threat detection, prevention, and mitigation strategies. The training also incorporated a detailed case study, allowing attendees to analyze real-world scenarios and develop effective response plans to combat emerging threats.
